Assistant Manager in Training
Position Summary
The Assistant Manager in Training works with the General Manager to lead and develop the Associates and Shift Managers at their location while providing an outstanding experience for all customers. Assistant Managers are expected to inspire their teams to ensure we execute the Mike\’s Purpose and deliver on our Team Member Promise while maximizing profitability. The Assistant Manager will be capable of running the location in the absence of the General Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
* Execute the Mike\’s Purpose and deliver on our Team Member Promise. This includes being a “role model” for our associates’ behavior and performance.
* Customer Satisfaction. Ensuring all customers leave satisfied, including maintaining wash quality, staffing, and handling customer complaints and damages professionally.
* Operations Management. Ensuring the location operates to Mike\’s Carwash standards and guidelines. Assisting the General Manager in achieving location goals. Managing detergent costs and inventory. Staffing through timely hiring surveys, scheduling, and timecards.
* Associate and Management Development. Serve as backup to the General Manager in hiring, complete location orientation and training checklists, and develop the team through one-on-one meetings, quarterly reviews, and discipline processes. Participate in termination proceedings. Ensure all open Manager checklists are completed by the scheduled end date.
* Property and Equipment Maintenance. Assist in maintenance and repairs, complete checklists, use the fix-it book for uncompleted repairs, and maintain cleanliness of all areas of the carwash.
* Personal Development. Participate in a structured management training program and pursue any skills needed to master responsibilities.
* Complying with all company policies and procedures
* Completing all other duties as assigned
Required Work Schedule
* Must work all scheduled shifts
* Must work at least five days and 40 hours each week, including every other weekend (unless otherwise approved)
* Capable of closing at least two nights each week
* Capable of opening one morning each week
* Work the full schedule the week leading up to Christmas, including December 24 or 26
* Ability to transfer between stores within market
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the employee to communicate verbally and in writing, hear at a conversational level, use vision for depth perception and color differentiation. The role requires standing or walking for extended periods, with occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, and twisting. Repetitive movements, gripping, and operating controls are required. Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and carrying up to 50 lbs for short distances may be required.
Work Environment
The work environment may include exposure to machinery, chemicals, and outdoor temperatures ranging from 0 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Occasional isolation and use of protective equipment may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
* Reasoning and Development: Ability to deal with practical problems and implement solutions.
* Mathematical Development: Ability to score 80% on the Money Handling Skills Assessment without a calculator.
* Language Development: Ability to read manuals and procedures, use clear English, and communicate with customers.
