About the Role
We are looking to recruit Healthcare Assistants located in Southend‑on‑Sea who are seeking ad‑hoc, flexible shifts. These shifts can accumulate into either full‑time or part‑time hours, and will be offered on a 0‑hour contract. The role includes working at various homes and services to cover gaps in our clients' rotas caused by annual leave, maternity leave, sickness and vacancies. Shifts may arise at short notice due to emergencies, and may also be booked weeks in advance, depending on client needs.
Responsibilities
* Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding and using the toilet
* Utilising equipment to move patients when necessary
* Helping tidy the patient's home or room
* Taking the patient's vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature
* Talking to patients and reassuring them
* Assisting nurses and other staff when needed
About the Person
A suitable candidate will have a minimum of 4 months' experience in a care home, a good understanding of spoken and written English, and will be compassionate, patient and enjoy helping others. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and requires evidence of the right to work in the UK.
