Description The University of Nottingham is looking to recruit Level 1 Swimming Instructors who are willing to assist with teaching group lessons for Juniors (4.5 years and above) and Early Years (6 weeks to 4.5 years). We work in partnership with Swim England to provide high quality swimming lessons focused on developing stroke technique and a range of water skills. Regular teaching slots and cover positions available. Please be advised that no previous experience of assisting Early years lessons is required, training will be offered on the job. The University of Nottingham offers a fantastic hourly rate of pay and is committed to ongoing training and development. Regular teaching slots available: Mondays 16.00-18.30 Tuesdays 16.00-18.30 Saturday 9.00-13.00, 9.00-12.15, 12.00-16.00 & 14.00-17.30 Sundays 9.00-12.30, 9.00-13.00 Start Date: September 2025 onwards End Date: Working Hours: Casual Pay Rate: £12.78 per hour plus holiday pay Location: David Ross Sports Village The duties will include: Assisting in the delivery of high quality and motivational lessons Following the direction of Level 2 Swim Instructors Offering support to the swimmers and the Level 2 Instructor Working in line with Swim England's National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) with an emphasis on stroke technique Supporting the Level 2 teacher in completing assessments Demonstrating commitment and enthusiasm to the University of Nottingham's Learn to Swim programme Willingness to learn and develop Skills and experience required for the role: Level 1 Swimming Instructors qualification Experience in teaching as a Level 1 instructor NRASTC or NPLQ qualification is desirable however if you do not have the qualification, we will offer you the opportunity to attend a course Knowledge of the Swim England National Plan for Teaching Swimming Positive and professional attitude towards work What you can expect to gain during this role: Great opportunity to learn and develop your teaching skills Application Instructions: Application Closing Date : 30th November 2025.
