Overview
This is a 12 month fixed term contract and you must have eligibility for SC Clearance. Base pay range: £45,000 - £63,000. Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom.
The role
As a Consultant Interaction Designer, you’ll design journeys and interactions which helps users complete their goals. You’ll work closely with other user-centred design roles, such as User Researchers and Content Designers, to solve complex and interesting problems for our clients. You’ll create designs based on insights from user research and data, apply best practice design principles, and make complex processes easy to use. To succeed in this role, you need experience of designing to meet user needs. You don’t need to have previously held the job title “interaction designer”.

In addition to interaction design skills, there are essential core skills you’ll need to work effectively as a consultant. In the interview, please show how you have:

* planned your own tasks, to achieve the aims of your project
* respectfully challenged decisions or solutions you didn’t agree with
There are some areas of experience which are not essential, but relevant to this role. If you don’t have this experience please do still apply, as we can coach you in these areas when you join us:
* the Government Digital Service (GDS) assessment process
* using prototyping tools
* HTML and CSS experience
* working in Agile delivery teams
* planning and facilitating workshops
