Engineering Shift Technician - Food Manufacturing
📍 Location: Poole area, Dorset (BH15)
🕒 Shift Pattern: Panama shift (2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights)
⏰ Hours: 5:15am - 5:15pm / 5:15pm - 5:15am
💷 Salary: £50,350 per annum
Join a leading food manufacturing business as an Engineering Shift Technician, working within a fast-paced production environment to ensure machinery and equipment are maintained to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
Diagnose faults and perform repairs across a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems.
Support production teams by ensuring minimal downtime through quick, safe, and effective troubleshooting.
Maintain detailed maintenance records and update the CMMS accordingly.
Adhere to site health and safety, hygiene, and food safety standards at all times.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and production.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery or upgrades.
Qualifications & Experience:
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline).
Recognised apprenticeship in engineering would also be considered.
Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within food manufacturing, FMCG, or similar high-speed production environment.
Multi-skilled background (mechanical and/or electrical).
Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
Good understanding of health & safety and food hygiene standards in a regulated environment
