The image can also indicate evidence of non-eye diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension and certain cancers. Optos is committed to utilising the latest technology to manufacture new products and software that support optomap® as a world-class standard of care, helping eye care professionals around the world save sight and lives. \n\n \n\nROLE SUMMARY\n\nWe are currently looking for a Manufacturing Technician Apprentice to join our Operations team based in Dunfermline.\n\nThis is a technical role responsible for assembling and fault-finding of highly complicated systems that require knowledge of mechanics, electronic, optical engineering and software.\n â¢\tAssembling materials in kit form whilst stringently adhering to working procedures. \nâ¢\tAligning complicated optical systems. \nâ¢\tFault finding of scan heads. \nâ¢\tEnsuring capacity and quality levels are maintained. \nâ¢\tMaintenance and upkeep of area always ensuring cleanliness and functionality at all times. \nâ¢\tEffective use of jigs and fixtures. \nâ¢\tWorking as part of a team to help achieve targets. \nâ¢\tCompletion of Microsoft Word and Excel based route cards. \nâ¢\tFlexibility to move between different sections to broaden experience. \n\nWhilst working at Optos, you will also be studying towards your Modern Apprenticeship at Fife College. The course is delivered in a blended manner and during your first year you would attend college 3 days per week and 2 days in the workplace. The timetable will vary each year. â¢\tMinimum of National 5 or Standard Grade in English, Maths, with a science and/or technical subject being advantageous or an equivalent NC. \nâ¢\tDesire to work in a manufacturing environment with a continuous improvement mindset. \nâ¢\tAn ability to work and manage time effectively with overall good time keeping. \nâ¢\tTeam oriented - strong interpersonal and communication skills. \nâ¢\tAbility to accurately follow instructions. \nâ¢\tPC literate â specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
