Overview

Senior Community Health Navigator – The Senior Community Health Navigator will support the operational day to day management of the Community Health Navigator and Administration team within Children’s Services. The role will provide line management to this group of colleagues, dealing with all management matters including workload allocation, performance, absence management, 1-1 provision, appraisal and training. This is a demanding role requiring high levels of administrative skills and communication skills and the ability to work proactively as part of a team. The role also requires some degree of client and stakeholder contact, requiring a high level of interpersonal skills and personal confidence. Having a respectful and empathetic attitude will be essential, with the capacity to manage highly sensitive, complex and confidential information. The role requires the capacity to communicate and manage sensitive, confidential information safely and know when and how to liaise with the multidisciplinary team.


Main Responsibilities

* Oversee the day to day management of the Community Health Navigator and Administration team within Children’s Services
* Plan and manage daily rotas, adapting cover as required to ensure full service delivery
* Provide direct line management to the team, including recruitment, induction, training, one to ones, appraisals, performance and absence management
* Support and develop colleagues, creating a positive, well organised and inclusive team environment
* Ensure clear and effective communication across the team through regular meetings and appropriate information cascades


Person Specification


Essential

* Maths and English GCSEs or equivalent
* Qualification in supervisory or line management or equivalent experience to NVQ Level 4
* At least 2 years’ administrative or clerical experience
* Experience of direct line management
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
* Ability to prioritise and manage workload in a busy environment
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team


Desirable

* Previous experience of working within Children’s health or social care
* Minute taking skills or experience
