Clinical Operations Manager
AbbVie is turning science into medicine to improve patients’ lives. The Clinical Operations Manager plays a key role in advancing our clinical pipeline by leading high‑performing study start‑up teams and fostering impactful partnerships with investigative sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Team Leadership & Development – Lead, mentor and support a team of clinical research professionals focused on study start‑up activities. Oversee hiring, performance management, coaching and career development. Foster an inclusive and empowering team culture that encourages growth and accountability.
* Clinical Trial Oversight – Ensure timely, high‑quality and budget‑compliant delivery of assigned clinical studies. Support ethics submissions, site visits and audit readiness. Monitor compliance with GCP, ICH guidelines, AbbVie SOPs and local regulations.
* Strategic Collaboration – Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Medical Affairs) and external partners (KOLs, investigators). Promote AbbVie’s reputation through coordinated and impactful site engagement. Contribute to feasibility strategies and site identification to support pipeline execution.
* Operational Excellence – Use AbbVie tools and systems to proactively manage performance, metrics, risks and resources. Conduct gap analyses and trend assessments to identify training needs and drive continuous improvement. Manage resource allocation in line with portfolio priorities and participate in global/local initiatives.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a health‑related field (Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences).
* Minimum 3 years of clinical monitoring experience.
* Strong interpersonal and cross‑functional communication skills.
* Experience motivating and mentoring others with the ability to provide transparent and timely feedback.
* Strategic mindset with solid planning and organizational skills.
* Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making timely, data‑driven decisions.
* Experience across multiple therapeutic areas and study phases is a plus.
* High integrity and alignment with AbbVie’s leadership values.
* Self‑driven, adaptable and proactive.
