The School of Geography and Environmental Science seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Human Geography to provide cover for a Research Fellowship and strengthen the Population, Health and Wellbeing (PHeW) and/or Economy, Society and Governance (ESG) Research Groups. We particularly welcome applications from scholars active in:
1. Qualitative social geography, including ethnography, interviews, discourse analysis, with interests in immigration, class, welfare, austerity, gender, and sexuality.
2. Health geography, focusing on social inequalities, health outcomes related to food, social environments, gender, sexuality, and care.
Teaching responsibilities will mainly involve the BA Geography programmes, including lectures, tutorials, practicals, seminars, and fieldwork. You will lead two modules: “Wellbeing, Inequality and Place” and “Geographies of Social Justice, Welfare and Rights,” and participate in a field trip to Amsterdam. We welcome applicants interested in teaching across various modules, including research methods and residential fieldtrips, and those interested or experienced in decolonising the curriculum. Training for a Post-graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) will be provided.
