Engineering Manager – Mobile (Android & iOS)

We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager (Mobile) to lead the development and operation of high-traffic Android and iOS applications used daily by millions of users across multiple European markets.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide a cross-functional squad, drive technical excellence, and shape the future of mobile products in a fast-moving, agile environment.
What You’ll Do
* Lead, coach, and inspire a cross-functional engineering team delivering mobile applications at scale
* Own and deliver the squad roadmap for News & Sports mobile experiences
* Champion engineering best practices, Agile delivery, and high-quality, on-time releases
* Lead technical planning, architecture, coding standards, testing, and implementation
* Partner closely with Product, Design, Delivery, and Engineering leaders to align execution with business strategy
* Use engineering metrics to inform decisions and continuously improve team performance
* Advocate for technical improvements that enhance product quality, performance, and reliability
* Lead recruitment, onboarding, and team growth initiatives
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and supplier management
* Act as technical Service Owner for change and incident management, including escalation and on-call coordination
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience in technical leadership roles, managing or mentoring multidisciplinary engineering teams
* Strong background in mobile development (Android and/or iOS); Backend-for-Frontend experience is a plus
* End-to-end delivery experience including UI development, accessibility, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, observability, and API/backend integration
* Experience working in Agile, product-led teams with close stakeholder collaboration
* A continuous-improvement mindset with a passion for modern engineering practices and emerging technologies
* Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across teams and functions
