Job overview Job Purpose The post-holder will deliver and contribute to the development of the maternal medicine service, working both as an autonomous practitioner and team member, delivering high quality, expert nursing care. Advert Main Duties & Responsibilities § Be a key member of the maternal medicine MDT and work collaboratively with the rest of the maternity team to support best possible patient outcomes. § Participate in joint specialist maternal medicine clinics, providing key nursing input. A key focus will be increasing staff knowledge of maternal medicine § Act as a specialist resource for patients, ensuring they have a full understanding of their conditions, and interpreting complex information to ensure they are fully informed and supported in the decision-making process. § Provide support, education and specialist advice to patients, carers and families. § Contribute to service development and innovation, leading on specific projects as required. § Contribute to the development of patient information leaflets, protocols, standards and guidelines. § Undertake and participate in audits as required. § Assist in the formulation of policies and protocols. § Sharing information and introducing ideas to help promote quality and effectiveness of the department.
