About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and forwardschool in Sheffield. You will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional & mental health difficulties.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about helping young people thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and smallsupport for pupils with SEN
Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons
Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social skills
Contribute to EHCP reviews and liaise with external support professionals
Create a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment
What Were Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, residential, care, tutoring or voluntary settings welcomed)
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive and trusting relationships
A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
Level 2/3 TA qualification is beneficial but not essential
