Engineer – Power & Environment – Groundwork
The Power System Technician will provide a technical engineering service with the minimum of supervision in respect of mechanical & electrical servicing, repairs, maintenance, supervision and installation.
Job Description
Reporting directly to the team manager, the Power Systems Technician will be part of a multi‑skilled team covering the Northeast England service area. You’ll provide your individual contribution to this team, performing day‑to‑day operational duties, occasionally travelling outside the normal team area.

Responsibilities
* Respond to faults in a timely manner and complete corrective maintenance on a range of systems to meet our Customer Service Level Agreements.
* Carry out preventative maintenance in line with Arqiva standards, policies and procedures.
* Support upgrades and modifications to existing systems and networks following agreed instructions.
* Maintain accurate records, documentation and reporting of actions taken.
* Be available to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team.
* Ensure that equipment operates to specified performance criteria and is maintained to agreed company standards.
* Engage with customers and build positive working relationships.
* Undertake contractor supervision duties as required.
* Actively participate in 24/7/365 call‑out response as per the scheduled rota.
* Always work safely, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and Arqiva Safety policy.
* Be willing to learn new transmission skills with an option to train to climb and progress to a climbing role.
* Role includes lone working in remote locations.
Qualifications & Skills
* A valid driving licence.
* Time‑served electrician (NVQ 3 & AM2).
* City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Regulations.
* City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection and Test or 2394 & 2395 – Verification & inspection testing.
* Experience with fault finding and diagnosis.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and schematics.
* Working knowledge of BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.
* Experience working on three‑phase equipment and systems.
