We are a bespoke joinery company specialising in high-end cabinetry, and we are looking for a highly skilled and accredited Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. With a team of 12 employees, we need an experienced professional to manage our financial records and support business decision-making.
We use Xero accounting software, so experience with Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems is essential.
Part-time hours are pro rata to an annual salary equivalent of £32,000, offering flexibility to suit your work-life balance. The exact number of days required will depend on the needs of the business and can be discussed at interview.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial transaction recording – accurately record all sales, invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions.
* Daily bookkeeping – maintaining records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring financial accuracy.
* Payroll & VAT returns – processing payroll and submitting VAT returns on time.
* Customer statements & supplier payments – managing statements and ensuring timely payments.
* Quarterly management accounts – preparing reports to support financial decision-making.
* Directors' management dashboard – maintaining a real-time financial dashboard for performance tracking.
* Updating sales tracker – ensuring accurate records of sales activity and performance.
* Strategy development – working closely with the business owner and managers to provide financial insights and help shape business strategy.
* Decision support – assisting management with data-driven financial decisions to drive growth and efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
* Accredited bookkeeper with proven experience.
* Proficient in Xero or similar accounting software.
* Experience in payroll, VAT returns, and management accounts.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills for working with business owners, managers, and suppliers.
