Job Overview
Herefordshire Council are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader for the Building Conservation team. As the Council's lead officer for building conservation, you'll:
Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice on heritage matters to planning teams, developers, and the public.
* Lead on Listed Building Consents, Conservation Area Appraisals, and heritage-led regeneration.
* Manage the Herefordshire Historic Environment Records Service and oversee archaeological projects.
* Represent the Council at appeals, committees, and regional/national forums.
* Support the Council's Climate & Ecological Emergency commitments through sustainable heritage solutions.
Qualifications
* A pragmatic, collaborative approach to conservation and development.
* A degree in building conservation, architecture, archaeology, or a related field.
* Membership (or eligibility) of a relevant professional body (e.g. IHBC, RIBA, RTPI).
* Significant experience in heritage legislation, planning policy, and conservation practice.
* Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and budget management skills.

* Salary range of £46,052- £50,171 (HC 10)
