Bank Hospital Support Assistant - Grimsby
The post holder's specific responsibilities focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the patient environment, managing clinical equipment, and providing quality food services within the ward. Duties include:
1. Ensuring adherence to National Patient Safety Agency Cleaning (NPSA) specifications and Publicly Available Specification (PAS) by implementing ward cleaning schedules.
2. Performing spot cleaning (e.g., floors, toilets) promptly, managing spillages efficiently with appropriate equipment and cleaning products.
3. Proper storage and use of chemicals in accordance with COSHH procedures.
4. Minimizing disruption through efficient work procedures.
5. Serving beverages and preparing meals, including collecting completed menu cards.
6. Cleaning ward kitchens, crockery, cutlery, and equipment to meet Environmental Health standards and departmental policies, including dishwashing machine operation.
7. Maintaining high personal hygiene standards as per Catering Hygiene and Food Handling Policies, safely using cleaning materials with correct ratios.
8. Promptly clearing food and drink spillages and maintaining cleanliness of patient tables and trays.
9. Flushing Little Used Outlets (LUO) regularly in line with Legionella management policies.
10. Completing mandatory and role-specific training as required.
11. Providing leadership support and guidance to new or less experienced staff.
12. Assisting patients during contact, especially where communication barriers exist.
13. Reporting patient feedback, equipment requisitions, repairs, and maintenance needs.
14. Maintaining work records such as fridge and food temperature checks, cleaning, and flushing records.
15. Participating in audits and surveys, recording faults, and reporting issues.
