Pharmacy Technician
The Cherwell Hospital - Banbury
Full Time - 37.5 hours
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join The Cherwell Hospital. The successful candidate will work within a team of Pharmacists and Technicians, supporting the wider hospital team and patients.
The role
In this role, you will be an integral part of a team committed to delivering high-quality clinical outcomes in a supportive environment, where your skills and expertise will be valued. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Procurement of medicines and medical devices, including unlicensed medicines
* Maintaining high standards of stock control and rotation
* Supervising daily stock level and expiry checks, making necessary adjustments
* Managing medicines invoicing according to Ramsay Guidelines
* Supporting staff development and training across the hospital
* Assisting the pharmacy manager with medicines reconciliation
* Participating in audits for the pharmacy and hospital teams
* Providing ad hoc support to the sister hospital in Milton Keynes
* Supervising controlled drugs, reporting discrepancies to the pharmacy manager
* Detecting, recording, and reporting drug-related incidents
* Developing, updating, and implementing pharmacy procedures in collaboration with the pharmacy manager
Essential qualifications/criteria:
* NVQ3, BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science, or equivalent
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician
* Open to candidates from hospital, community sectors, or those seeking new experiences in different areas of pharmacy
* Clear and confident communication skills, patient-focused
* Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently
* Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs
* Decision-making skills and initiative
* Passion for delivering excellent care in a friendly environment
* Full Driving License and ability to commute to Ramsay sites (for induction and procurement training)
