Overview
Job summary: 37.5 hours per week. To provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients with diverse neurological conditions, assisting them in their recovery and rehabilitation within the regional inpatient neurological rehabilitation service based at Mount Gould Hospital, Plymouth.
The post holder will utilise clinical skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans and goals tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. Responsibilities will include monitoring and managing neurological symptoms, administering medications, conducting health education, and providing support to patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation process.

Main duties of the job: To assess capacity, gain valid informed consent, document appropriately and demonstrate the ability to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
To comply with local confidentiality policies, child protection and vulnerable adult procedures.
Support patient care through provision of clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills, practical clinical nursing skills and assist in teaching knowledge and clinical skills to other health care professionals.
Provide education and support to patients and their families on the nature of their neurological condition, treatment options, self-care strategies, coping mechanisms, and community resources available to support their recovery.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, care plans, interventions, progress notes, goal setting and outcomes to support continuity of care and adhering to Livewell Southwest policies and procedures.
Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the standard of care and promote evidence-based practice.
Advocate for patients\' needs, rights, and preferences within the healthcare system to ensure they receive high-quality and person-centred care that promotes their well-being and recovery.
Participate in the education and assessment of performance of students and junior staff, in order to provide competent advice and clinical support whilst promoting the effective and efficient delivery of a quality service.

* Full and valid UK driving licence
