Job Summary
A friendly and progressive pharmacy team focuses on safe, clinically effective and cost‑efficient medicines. The role supports the Lead Pharmacy Technician (Homecare and Blueteq) in managing home‑care medication for patients, assists ophthalmology with high‑cost medications, and works with gastroenterology on prescription flow and funding.

Job Description

Responsibilities
* Support the lead pharmacy technician working with the home‑care team to assist in the delivery of the team's key objectives, completion of the team's agreed tasks and actions, and documentation as per pre‑set processes.
* Book and process home‑care prescriptions, checking prescriptions for legality and completeness, create purchase order numbers and send the prescriptions to suppliers.
* Pay invoices from suppliers and book the medication out to the patients' profile.
* Monitor and action emails to the joint box.
* Work with gastroenterology to ensure home‑care prescriptions are managed, checking that the patient has prior approval of funding before prescriptions are sent to pharmacy.
* Work with ophthalmology in the supply of high‑cost medication, controlling the stock and ensuring prior approval of funding is in place.
Qualifications
Education, Qualifications & Training (Essential)
* QCF level 3 in Pharmacy services – or willing and able to work towards.
* GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English grade C or above.
Experience (Essential)
* Working within a team.
* Managing own workload to meet the needs of a service.
* Previous pharmacy experience.
Desirable
* Previous experience working with spreadsheets on Microsoft Excel.
* Previously managed joint email boxes.

* Working within a busy office environment.
