We are recruiting an experienced Sous Chef for a large, well-established hotel operation in the Bolton area. This is a high-volume kitchen environment with significant conference and banqueting, alongside multiple food and beverage outlets.
This role is ideal for a Sous Chef who enjoys working at scale within a structured operation and is comfortable supporting large services and events.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supporting senior leadership while ensuring consistent standards across all areas of the operation.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting the Head Chef and senior kitchen team with daily kitchen operations
• Assisting in the delivery of high-volume conference, banqueting and outlet services
• Supervising kitchen sections and supporting junior chefs during service
• Maintaining food quality, presentation and consistency at all times
• Ensuring food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are met
• Supporting stock control, ordering and waste management
• Contributing to a positive, professional and well-organised kitchen environment
The Ideal Candidate
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef, ideally within a hotel or large-scale operation
• Background in conference & banqueting or high-volume service preferred
• Strong organisational skills with a calm, hands-on approach during service
• Confident leading and supporting teams in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible, reliable and committed to maintaining high standards
