Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role within the team, with a high degree of autonomy. Responsibilities include:
* Acting as Project Leader on selected projects
* Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Attending client and principal meetings, including delivering presentations
* Promoting technical excellence within the mechanical engineering discipline
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members
* Developing client relationships and contributing to repeat business
* Working across a variety of technically challenging projects
* Being client-facing throughout all project stages, from inception to completion
* Producing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
* Completing or overseeing engineering calculations
Experience & Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
* HNC/HND candidates with relevant design experience will also be considered
* Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartership
* Minimum 3–4 years' experience in building services design (post-qualification)
* Experience with software such as Microsoft Office, Relux/Dialux, Amtech, and Revit
* Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. British/European Standards, Building Regulations)
* Familiarity with HTMs (desirable)
* Professional membership (e.g. CIBSE, IET) preferred
* Understanding of HV/LV systems and embedded generation
* Experience with renewable technologies and sustainable design
* Working knowledge of BREEAM
* Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
* Proactive attitude with a desire to learn and develop
