Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Telehandler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating telehandlers to move materials and equipment on construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, you would support our civils operations by lifting and moving heavy loads across various sites, including construction sites and farms.
Responsibilities
* Operating the telehandler by accurately manoeuvring the machine, lifting loads and ensuring safe transport of materials – selecting and attaching the appropriate attachments, such as forks, buckets or platforms based on the task.
* Load assessment by determining the weight and stability of loads to be lifted, ensuring safe handling and which may involve heavy or awkward objects
* Performing routine checks o the telehandler to ensure it is safe and in good working condition
* Collaborating with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate material handling tasks
* Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures while operating the telehandler
* Available to work weekends and support in evening for any out of hours work.
Requirements
* Industry standard insurance – driving licence UK
* NPORS and CPCS cards
* Valid commercial driving licence is essential for operating telehandlers on-site.
* Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
* Previous experience operating excavators is preferred but not mandatory.
* Excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
* A commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
* Flexibility to work varied hours based on project needs, including potential overtime during peak periods.
