An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Endoscopy Booking Administrator.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver and maintain an administrative service within the Endoscopy Department and to all its users (patients, relatives and colleagues).
* Make bookings for both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures in a timely manner to ensure all national and local targets are met (including the cancer pathway).
* Send pre‑procedure preparation to selected cohort of patients.
* Cancel and amend endoscopy lists as directed by the Endoscopy Coordinator and assist the Coordinator with clinic capacity demands.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in a clerical/office environment or reception service.
* Prioritising, planning and organising own tasks.
* Working within guidelines.
* Experience of dealing with difficult situations.
* Data entry experience and documentation.
* Experience of IT packages – Microsoft Office.
* Previous experience of working in NHS.
Knowledge
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
* Sound knowledge of office procedures.
* Understanding of customer service.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
* Knowledge of the Trust including awareness of priorities.
* Knowledge of Trust information systems.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Understanding of NHS targets and Trust priorities.
Skills
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills including telephone, e‑mail, face‑to‑face.
* Ability to organise and manage own time keeping to schedule and deadlines.

Qualifications
* Educated to A level or equivalent.
* NVQ level 3 Customer Service/ Business Admin or equivalent.
