We are seeking an experienced and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the CF24 area of Cardiff. This role would suit a confident practitioner who can hit the ground running, adapt quickly to the needs of the school, and support children across a range of abilities and year groups.
The successful candidate will be:
* Nurturing, caring, and patient, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
* Experienced in a primary setting, with a good understanding of classroom practice and the ability to lead small groups or whole-class sessions when required.
* Flexible and reliable, able to adapt to different roles and responsibilities within the school day.
* Ideally experienced in supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN/SEN), including those with behavioural, social, or communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver planned lessons or interventions under the direction of the class teacher or SENCO.
* Provide targeted support to pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis.
* Contribute to planning, assessment, and record-keeping.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
* Support with classroom management and promote positive behaviour.
Requirements:
* HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience working in a primary school setting.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to be part of a supportive team.
