We're looking for a Service Locator to join our KierBAM team based in Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard
Hours: 42.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
KierBAM is a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently delivering an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. We're seeking an experienced Service Locator to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the safe identification and management of underground services across the site.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Service Locator, you'll be working within the KierBAM team, supporting them in the safe identification and management of underground services. Your day to day will include:
* Using geophysical techniques to locate underground services and marking them accurately on the ground, defining type and depth
* Authorising and maintaining Permit to Break Surface documentation, ensuring full compliance with project procedures
* Providing teams with comprehensive overviews of services within their work boundaries and advising on safe working methods
* Conducting site briefings using an 8-point checklist and enforcing exclusion zones around affected services
* Liaising with the BOSC regarding any discrepancies in records and ensuring service drawings are kept up to date
What are we looking for?
This role of Service Locator is great for you if:
* You have strong experience with electromagnetic location equipment and ground penetrating radar
* You hold a solid understanding of industry standards including PAS 128 and TSA, along with knowledge of HSG-47 and GS-6
* You're proficient in using surveying equipment such as GPR, CAT, and Genny utility detection tools
* You possess excellent communication skills and can collaborate effectively with teams and clients on site
* You hold a CSCS Card (or can obtain one before starting) and ideally have QCF Level 3 or Level 5 certification in utility mapping
