Overview
A Small Works Project Manager in commercial gas oversees minor commercial projects, liaises with clients, manages teams, and ensures safety and compliance. Strong gas and plumbing experience, estimating skills, and leadership are essential. It's a hands-on role with real impact across varied sites and clients.
Responsibilities
* Project Oversight: Manage small-scale mechanical and gas-related projects from survey to completion.
* Client Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients, providing updates and technical advice.
* Site Surveys: Conduct site visits to assess requirements and prepare cost estimates.
* Estimating & Pricing: Prepare quotations for remedial works based on PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and client requests.
* Team Coordination: Organize installation and commissioning teams, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure all works comply with UK building regulations, gas safety standards, and internal protocols.
* Documentation: Prepare completed works for invoicing and maintain accurate records of progress and issues.
Qualifications & Skills
* Proven experience in commercial project management within the gas sector.
* Strong understanding of commercial contracts, procurement processes, and financial controls.
* Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities for managing small to medium-sized projects.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders at all levels.
* Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage challenging situations and negotiate effectively.
* Relevant qualifications such as Commercial Gas tickets, SSSTS/ SMSTS or equivalent project management certifications.
* Desirable attributes: experience with UK commercial compliance and health & safety regulations; ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project demands; commercial awareness with a focus on cost control and value engineering.
Working Conditions
* Based out of our regional offices, with site visits required.
* Office-based with regular meetings and remote coordination.
