Alter Technology UK provides contract package design and assembly services for a wide range of semiconductor devices.Alter Technology UK is a subsidiary of Alter Technology TUV NORD and is part of world leading technical services provider TUV NORD’s Digital & Semiconductor Business Unit.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex projects within the semiconductor packaging domain. The ideal candidate will drive cross‑functional execution from concept through mass production, ensuring delivery of advanced packaging solutions that meet performance, cost, quality, and time‑to‑market requirements. This role requires deep familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing flows, packaging technologies, and customer program management.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate activities across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and customer teams.
* Manage project risks through proactive mitigation planning and rapid issue resolution.
* Track project performance using appropriate KPIs (yield, cycle time, cost, schedule adherence).
* Act as the primary point of contact for key customer projects, providing regular updates on progress, risks, issues, and deliverables.
* Manage customer expectations by aligning requirements, schedules, and deliverables.
* Facilitate technical and manufacturing discussions between internal teams and customer representatives.
* Manage project budgets, cost models, and profitability reporting.
* Drive cost‑reduction initiatives to improve competitiveness and margin.
* Ensure adherence to operational KPIs and continuous improvement practices (Lean, Six Sigma).
Qualifications
Required
* Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, or related field).
* 5+ years of experience in semiconductor packaging, assembly, or advanced packaging engineering.
* Demonstrated success managing complex technical projects in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Basic knowledge of semiconductor assembly and optical test processes.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional leadership skills.
Preferred
* Master’s degree or PRINCE2/PMP certification or similar.
* Experience with high‑volume manufacturing sites and global supply chain coordination.

* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve technical and operational challenges.
* Adaptable and able to thrive in fast‑paced, high‑tech manufacturing environments.
* Proactive communicator capable of balancing customer expectations with operational realities.
