Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Needed
* Business application architecture design and modelling techniques, patterns, tools, and standards.
* Public cloud technologies, especially AWS, design patterns, containers, tools, and best practices.
* CICD delivery methodologies and best practices.
* Relational, NoSQL, and Open-Source database design, technologies, and patterns.
* Significant experience in designing microservice, event-driven, and API-led architectures, recognizing and guiding to best practices.
Your Role
We seek skilled architects confident working on products & services in complex digital environments. As a Senior Solution Architect, you will design, implement, and oversee IT solutions that improve services for millions of DWP users.
You will deliver technical and architectural design elements for either the Health & or Children & Families functions. Collaborating with engineers and experts in multidisciplinary teams, you'll create efficient solution designs that meet user needs.
You will ensure technical quality and adherence to DWP's Digital Blueprint, Enterprise Architecture, and Product Roadmaps. You will also identify, share, iterate, and implement architecture patterns.
Beyond architecture expertise, we need you to be a communicator and leader, capable of influencing decisions and simplifying complex concepts for governance, design boards, senior leaders, and your team.
Details
Location: Digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, or Sheffield.
Hybrid Working: Some time at home, some face-to-face in hubs.
Pay: Up to £70,000.
Pension: Civil service pension with 28.97% employer contributions (~£16,000/year).
Holidays: 26 days initially, rising to 31, plus up to 3 extra days/month on flexi-time, plus public holidays.
