Overview
As an Intelligence Technical Officer in the Environment Agency’s National Environmental Crime Unit, you will build confidence and capability across area teams in intelligence-led ways of working and the use of intelligence systems, to build a greater understanding of the Threat, Risk and Harm and drive a better approach to tackling environmental offending and protect officer safety.
Responsibilities
* Provide Memex training to area teams and promote the use and benefits of Memex, improving the quality of intelligence submissions.
* Deliver face-to-face training on the MEMEX intelligence system and support area teams to submit intelligence and conduct searches.
* Supervise intelligence logs to ensure a high standard of quality in submissions.
* Create entities from Memex submissions and provide regular performance reports with feedback for improvement.
* Maintain high standards of quality in intelligence submissions.
* Undertake other duties commensurate with the role.

Team and Role Context
The Intelligence Team manages and develops all criminal intelligence for the Environment Agency, building relationships with partners to support an intelligence-led approach to tackling environmental crime across regimes. The team aims to provide a professional and timely service and continuously improve practices to meet customer needs.
Experience/Skills Required
* Self-motivated and proactive with a good understanding of intelligence and intelligence systems.
* Ability to advocate for an intelligence-led approach and embed it across teams.
* Excellent influencing skills to promote Memex use and mandatory safety checks.
* Strong relationship-building abilities and the capability to create and deliver engaging, inclusive training.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide feedback on intelligence submission performance.
* Strong self-management, organisational skills, and effective teamwork.
Additional Information
Location is flexible with a mix of home and office work; travel to Birmingham and other offices is required on occasion. Interviews via Microsoft Teams are expected in October.
