This role sits within our SPS division, with the Transport Planner responsible for managing the day-to-day planning, scheduling and coordination of all transport activities from our Aberdeen site. The role plays a vital part in ensuring operational efficiency, on-time deliveries, and seamless communication across departments. This is a site-based position due to the hands-on and responsive nature of the work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, schedule and optimise multi drop delivery routes to ensure efficient and cost effective operations.
* Arrange export loads including appropriate documentation and compliance requirements.
* Maintain up to date knowledge of incoterms to ensure correct application across export movements.
* Coordinate collections, special deliveries and urgent requirements efficiently.
* Work close with BM Steel and SPs Sales teams to ensure customer delivery expectations are understood and met.
* Provide timely updates on delivery status, delays or operational issues.
* Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse team members and management.
* Produce delivery notes, manifests and transport related documents.
* Ensure vehicle utilisation is maximised while maintaining service quality and legal compliance.
* Support the wider operations team with planning insights, transport metrics and reporting.
* Ensure full compliance with transport regulations, export requirements and company policies
* Promote a safe working culture across all transport activities.
Skills and Experience Required
* Proven experience in transport planning or logistics coordination ideally within a multi-drop environment.
* Understanding of export processes and Incoterms.
* Strong organisational and problem solving abilities.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence working with multiple departments.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
* Good IT skills, including transport planning systems and Microsoft office.

Salary: £30k-39k depending on experience.
