About the Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will act as a role model for both staff and young people, supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home. You'll lead shifts, mentor junior staff, and ensure the highest standards of care are consistently delivered. You will be key in creating a homely and supportive atmosphere where young people feel safe, respected, and valued.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and supervise shifts, ensuring effective delegation and clear communication
· Support and guide a team of residential support workers
· Build positive and trusting relationships with young people
· Support young people in all aspects of daily life, including education, health, and emotional wellbeing
· Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews
· Promote safeguarding and work in line with regulatory standards (Ofsted)
· Assist in training and developing staff
· Respond to challenging behaviour in a calm, professional, and therapeutic manner
What We're Looking For
· Minimum of 2 years' experience in a residential childcare setting
· Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
· Working toward or willingness to work toward Level 5 Leadership and Management – desirable
· Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and child development
· Excellent communication and leadership skills
· Ability to manage challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
A full UK driving licence – preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00-£13.71 per hour
