The successful candidate will play a key role in driving transformational business redesign, therefore we are seeking to recruit a Senior Business Analyst to support the Digital Transformation Team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. This role will have significant responsibility to achieve transformational business redesign, enabling the implementation of projects to improve patient care and well being.

Initially, this post will support mental health transformation across the health board, therefore we welcome applications from clinical professionals with experience of working in mental health, learning disabilities and community healthcare settings.

Please note the requirement to work flexibly and travel between sites.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Business Analyst post will oversee business analysis, service delivery, change management and communication for the Digital Transformation Team.

With responsibility to achieve transformational business redesign, main duties will include:

1. Leading on business process analysis.
2. Collection, elicitation and recording of business requirements for large scale service redesign.
3. Contribution to the enhancement and design of clinical information systems that meet the requirements of users.
4. Evaluation and analysis of activities on a large scale, understanding the business needs to intuitively shape and craft business solutions to meet desired results.
5. Supporting the development of project objectives.
6. Facilitating meetings and workshops.
7. Working with local, regional and national teams.
8. Providing advice to project teams and services using agreed methodologies.
9. Contributing to the realisation of projects benefits in line with the health board's strategic objectives and the improvement of the quality and safety of patient care.

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential criteria

10. Educated to master’s degree level or equivalent level of work experience and knowledge
11. Additional specialist knowledge of business process analysis / service redesign and/or improvement
12. Evidence of Continual Professional Development
13. Up-to-date knowledge of Health Informatics and its application in a healthcare environment
14. Knowledge of clinical, management and information processes including complex patient pathways
15. Excellent understanding of translating business requirements into specialist functional specifications for IT systems
16. Competent in the use of MS Office
17. Ability to travel within geographical area timely and work hours flexibly to meet
18. Proven track record of successfully introducing change in a complex environment.
19. Problem identification and solving
20. Significant experience of working with healthcare staff, their representatives and trades unions/professional organisations. Demonstrable success
21. Demonstrable success in building, leading and motivating, managing and developing teams.
22. Proven ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.

Desirable criteria

23. ISEB Certificate in Business Analysis Essentials
24. PRINCE2 Practitioner
25. MSP Practitioner
26. ITIL V3 Practitioner
27. Technical Languages i.e. HL7 to support system interfaces
28. Awareness of ICD10, OPCS4 and SNOMED CT
29. Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh

Experience

Essential criteria

30. Proven track record of successfully introducing change in a complex environment.

Desirable criteria

31. Experience of providing training to individuals and groups of users
32. Experience of taking a lead role in projects involving system redesign
