Job Title: Apprentice – Construction Plant Mechanic
What are we looking for?
We are seeking individuals with a genuine interest in construction and the built environment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and ambitious, with the potential to progress to a supervisory or management role within five to ten years.
Role Overview
The primary responsibility of this role is to service, maintain, and repair our piling rigs used on various projects. Ensuring these rigs operate correctly, safely, and efficiently is crucial for supporting construction activities. This role provides vital support for significant projects such as nuclear power generation, hospitals, and airports.

Apprenticeship Provider
Norfolk block release (travel required on a Sunday evening). Laing O'Rourke collaborates with trusted and approved training providers for apprenticeship delivery. Successful candidates will be enrolled during onboarding.
Entry Requirements
* Eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions; a valid work permit if applicable.
* Full mobility to travel to various project locations as required.
* Achieved 3-9 or A-D grades in Maths and English GCSEs or Functional Skills Level 1 and above in Maths and English.

This programme offers a formal college education leading to Level 2 and/or 3 apprenticeship standards in your chosen vocation. You will gain a broad set of technical skills through on-the-job training, supported by our experienced workforce and construction professionals. A dedicated mentor and approved training provider will guide you, providing regular feedback on your progress towards completing the apprenticeship.
