First line trainee IT support engineer.
We are an established networking & software reseller. We pride ourselves on providing the very best support services to our clients. We want to add a trainee helpdesk and support engineer to our specialist team. In the 30 years we have been operating we have taken on board a substantial number of trainees who we have progressed through to competent and qualified engineers. The role is to provide first line client support for the range of Microsoft network environments (on premise and Cloud), see day to day tasks below. You will work under direction and within an established protocol environment. Clean drivers' licence is essential. Working from home is possible although a minimum attendance at our offices will be agreed. Salary offered is commensurate with trainee status but can be flexed if you have experience.
Day to Day Common Tasks
* Server & Desktop support and builds
* User administration & General housekeeping
* Network monitoring
* Antivirus solutions (setup and removal) & Application Support such as MS Office suites
* Hardware fault finding
* When required, attend clients' sites which may involve an overnight stay
* Documenting client sites & the usual tasks that fall under the "support" umbrella
All achieved while having Security implications and Requirements front of mind.
An ideal candidate would have;
* Experience in Windows Desktop & Server Platform Support
* Experience with on premise and Cloud AD, Exchange, VMware
* Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team.
* A self-starter with a 'can do, will do' attitude
* Excellent communications skills both written and oral
* Full Driving licence
Essentially a keen Interest in IT and Problem solving, with an understanding of the importance of Documentation
