Medical Receptionist/Administrator - Part Time 25 Hours per week
Offer generalassistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patientsand other visitors, either in person, online or on the telephone.
Receive,assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcareprofessional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Undertake avariety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of thepractice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support toclinical staff and other members of the practice team where needed.
Facilitateeffective communication between patients, members of the primary health careteam, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
Main duties of the job
Knowledge and use of EMIS web
Processing and issuing of prescriptions within standard timeframesas per practice policy
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments,visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to theappropriate healthcare professional
Processing and distributing income (and outgoing) mail usingWorkflow
Taking messages and passing on information
Admin duties including scanning, read coding, completing tasks andsummarising patient medical records
Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing andrecording information in accordance with practice procedures
Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients,other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers
Filing and retrieving of paperwork
Clearing and restocking consultation rooms as required
Monitoring of fridge temperatures
Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required fromtime to time, including word/data processing, filing, and photocopying
Keeping patient areas tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
Being polite and helpful to patients andcolleagues at all times ensuring that you provide good customer service andmake a good impression
