Director - Legal Managed Services (Contracting Solution Transformation Lead)
1. Reports to: Partner, Legal Managed Services
2. Location: UK (Travel Required)
Role Summary:
The Director leads strategic contracting managed services programmes, accountable for the transformation lifecycle from pre-sales through to post-signature delivery. You will actively support the sales process, collaborating with Partners to build robust business cases, develop pricing strategies, and define optimal managed service team structures. You will comprehensively assess the client's As-Is environment and design a future-state To-Be model that effectively integrates people, process, technology, and governance to drive substantial improvements. Additionally, you will oversee the transition of complex contracting operations into KPMG's optimised delivery model, ensuring commercial success and developing senior-level client relationships at the GC/CXO level.
Key Responsibilities:
3. Programme oversight for large-scale managed contracting service transitions
4. Designing and implementing optimal future-state solutions (talent, process, technology)
5. Commercial accountability, ensuring projects deliver on financial and strategic targets
6. Senior stakeholder management, navigating complex client environments
7. Driving service standardisation, cost reduction, juniorisation, and use of CLM and Gen-AI technologies
8. Identifying new solution opportunities, leading their development and integration
9. Supporting LMS activities within the firm-wide client relationship programme and stakeholders
10. Collaboration with cross-functional KPMG teams (tech, operations, recruitment)
11. Leading or contributing to the development of pricing models using internal calculators, including modelling delivery costs, team structure variations across geographies, inflation, FX fluctuations, and technology implications over multi-year terms
12. Aligning pricing strategy with opportunity goals, including consideration of outcome-based or value-linked pricing models
Qualifications:
13. Demonstrated experience across the managed services lifecycle, including pre-engagement (sales), contracting, and service delivery phases
14. Proven experience leading contracting transformation/outsourcing engagements
15. Extensive experience from consulting firms (Accenture, Big Four) or similar
16. Demonstrable leadership in complex stakeholder scenarios
17. Bachelor's degree required, advanced degrees preferred (MBA, postgraduate legal qualification)
