Role Overview
Principal Mechanical Design Engineer position at Tenet Consultants Ltd., a leading multi-discipline engineering and design consultancy based in Warrington.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept & Front End Engineering Design (FEED) studies
- Equipment specification and detail design
- Engineering substantiation
- Specialist mechanical handling design
- Mechanical piping design
- Manufacturing, installation and commissioning support
- Periodic safety reviews and Lifetime Quality Records (LQR)
- Safety system design
- Independent Nuclear Safety Assessment (INSA) and peer review
Required Experience and Skills
- Experience working within a highly regulated industry, preferably nuclear
- HNC minimum, ideally degree qualified and a Chartered Engineer
- Leadership experience and ability to develop junior engineers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in mechanical design calculations, technical specification writing, datasheet creation, bid evaluation and design documentation checks
- Ability to obtain BPSS clearance
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor and the Microsoft Office Suite
