The Role
We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our fantastic Consultancy Team. You will be writing environmental search reports in order to support property transactions from an environmental perspective. The work is heavily data driven and you will be working within a team of dedicated, knowledgeable and supportive Environmental Consultants.
The role will require weekly attendance at the Brighton office, currently a minimum of 3 days a week, so you should be suitably located. It is possible to work from home when not in the office, providing you have a suitable space and broadband connection.
The role involves
Data analysis, including interpretation of our extensive historical mapping collection.
Environmental report writing, learning the art of writing a report and with experience peer reviewing these reports.
Answering client queries via email and phone.
Training and development on the job is an important part of the role. There are many facets to this position and lots of new things to learn. We support team members in their learning journey and development of skills. There is a clear promotion path, through our Consultancy Team, increasing the range of skills at each step.
Key responsibilities
* Writing environmental reports for a range of sites and property transactions to determine their environmental risk rating
* Risk assess sites using data from the report, our GIS system and additional information sources.
* Discuss/ consult on report outcomes with other team members, take on feedback where necessary.
* Answer technical and non-technical queries from our clients.
* Support the team and line management in the successful delivery of objectives.
* We like our consultants to take an active interest in how reports are written, what is considered and whether there are ways they could be improved. Ongoing on the job training and independent learning relevant to Groundsure’s objectives.
* This list is not exhaustive and there may be other activities that you are required to deliver.
What we’re looking for
* Enjoyment of working with detailed data with the ambition of efficiently providing consistently accurate results
* A degree or comprehensive understanding within the Earth/Environmental Science fields or similar
* An affinity for data analysis - particularly an interest in mapping.
* A desire for continual learning and development.
* Preferred Working knowledge of:
* Environmental datasets and their limitations.
* Wider aspect of the environmental agenda.
* GSuite and QGIS
Education
Bachelor's (preferred).
