Our department is implementing a state‑of‑the‑art pharmacy robotic system and new pharmacy dispensing/stock management system. Key Information
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed pharmacy Senior Assistant Technical Officer to work between our Pharmacy Stores and Pharmacy Dispensary. The role involves ward stock replenishment, dispensing medication against patient prescriptions, and a variety of other tasks. It is part of a seven‑day service and requires flexible working, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays on a rota basis.
Responsibilities
* Undertake ward stock replenishment and dispense medication against patient prescriptions.
* Labelling prescriptions for patients and replenishment of stocks for clinical areas.
* Enter data onto computer systems such as ward orders, patient data and prescription tracking system.
* Manage stock within the pharmacy and in clinical areas.
* Assist with manual handling tasks; receive appropriate training.
Qualifications and Skills
* 4 GCSEs Grade C or above, including Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications and experience) and an NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or a statement of competence from the General Pharmaceutical Council, and significant experience of working in a dispensary.
* Basic calculation skills are essential.
* Good keyboard skills.
* Previous experience of working in a hospital or community pharmacy is an advantage.
* Team player, able to function efficiently, patient focused and keen to learn.
* Hardworking, able to work under pressure during busy periods.
* Flexible approach to duties, good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload, proactive, work as part of a team and follow instructions.

Successful candidates will work as a member of the pharmacy team, delivering high quality, safe and effective pharmacy services in accordance with the Trust's values and behaviours. They will be directed by Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
Applicants will be required to take an assessment test at interview. Shortlisted candidates will also be asked to attend a role‑specific assessment.
