About the Job
This is a varied Accounts Assistant position supporting the finance function, working closely with the Finance Director and Management Accountant. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of transactional finance, playing a key role in maintaining accurate financial data and contributing to the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
Duties will include:
• Raising sales invoices and maintaining accurate customer records
• Credit control and producing monthly statements for clients
• Weekly reporting on aged debtors to budget holders
• Processing and coding authorised purchase invoices
• Preparing and executing weekly payment runs
• Keeping supplier records updated and completing supplier documentation
• Managing staff expense claims and integrating data into the accounting system
• Reconciling direct debit payments against supporting systems
• Performing daily and month-end bank reconciliations
• Managing petty cash distribution and reconciliations
• Processing and reconciling credit card transactions
• Supporting the Finance Director with finance projects including system implementation
• Assisting with year-end audit and international VAT returns
About the Successful Applicant
You will have previous experience in a similar finance or accounting role and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles. Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. Familiarity with accounting software, particularly NetSuite, would be an advantage, and ideally you will be AAT qualified or studying towards it.
