The Role
We are seeking an accomplished and commercially minded Finance Director to provide maternity cover on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will take full ownership of the finance function, providing strategic financial leadership while ensuring robust financial controls and operational excellence across the business.
This role requires a hands-on finance leader with significant hospitality sector experience and a proven track record operating at Finance Director level.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee the entire finance function.
* Develop and deliver financial strategies that support business objectives and growth plans.
* Provide insightful financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting to senior stakeholders.
* Manage budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning processes.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
* Drive commercial decision-making through accurate financial analysis and business partnering.
* Monitor and improve financial controls, systems, and processes.
* Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, investors, and key stakeholders.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
* Support operational teams with performance analysis and profitability improvement initiatives.
* Oversee treasury management and working capital requirements.
Candidate Requirements
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
* Significant experience operating as a Finance Director within a hospitality business.
* Strong understanding of multi-site hospitality operations.
* Demonstrable experience managing large budgets, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
* Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and board-level decision-making.
* Strong commercial acumen with a hands-on approach.
* Experience leading and developing finance teams.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
