Job overview
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic band 6 podiatrist to join our friendly and experienced community podiatry team. The successful candidate will work in a variety of settings across Sutton Health and Care, managing a mixed caseload including routine and high risk patients within clinics and on domiciliary visits. You will undertake basic biomechanical assessments and treatments, and participate in the nail surgery rota.
The post holder will be part of a supportive and collaborative team with strong links to the Threatened Limb Service, MSK, District Nursing, Tissue Viability, Orthopaedics and Rheumatology. You will be supported to continue learning and developing your career and clinical skills in your areas of interest.
Main duties of the job
To provide services at a wide variety of sites including patients’ homes, clinics, GP practices, community hospitals and in challenging conditions, often working in isolation.
To assess, diagnose, develop treatment plans and provide effective podiatric treatments, using a problem-solving approach based on clinical need and evidence-based practice.
To commit to the philosophy of care with an emphasis on patient empowerment and independence by providing education and information to help patients manage their own foot needs.
To manage clinical risk within own patient caseload seeking guidance as appropriate.
Adhere to all relevant Trust Policies and Guidelines and Professional standards of care.

Qualifications
* HCPC registered podiatrist (DPodM or BSc), Local Anaesthetic Certificate
* Member of the College of Podiatry; Evidence of CPD
Training/experience
* Post graduate podiatric training or equivalent experience of podiatric conditions
