Radiographic Department Assistant– 37 Hours

We require a friendly, motivated and compassionate individual who enjoys working with people in a clinical setting to join our team.
The successful candidate will rotate through the various imaging areas including X-ray, CT, MRI, RNI Ultrasound and fluoroscopy. The supportive role of the Radiographic Department Assistant is vital in ensuring the smooth running of the radiology service.
The post holder will participate in patient care, assisting in clinical procedures and the smooth day-to-day running of these areas. Good organisation and communication skills are essential. A working knowledge of computers is helpful, however on-site training will be given.
The paediatric department is situated in a purpose-built facility on the Bioquarter site in Edinburgh, adjacent to the Royal Infirmary and is co-joined with the Radiology Department in the Dept of Clinical Neurosciences. This post supports provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain experience, knowledge and skills very specific to radiology, whilst caring primarily for paediatric patients, their families/carers but also adult patients in some of the more specialist areas.
Previous experience in a healthcare environment is advantageous but not essential.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

For Trainees Covered By Annex 21 Where The Period Of Training Lasts For Between One And Four Years, Pay Will Be As Follows
* up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
* more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate of the qualified.
* more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.
* more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
