New Directions are currently seeking knowledgeable and adaptable History Teachers to work on a varied supply basis across secondary schools in the Harrogate area.
This role offers a mix of day‑to‑day cover, short‑term assignments, and longer‑term placements, making it ideal for teachers who value flexibility while continuing to inspire a love of history and critical thinking in the classroom.
The Role
1. Teach History across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may be available)
2. Deliver pre‑planned lessons and ensure continuity of learning
3. Create a positive, well‑managed classroom environment
4. Engage pupils with historical content and support their progress
5. Adapt confidently to different school settings and student needs
About You
6. Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
7. Have experience teaching History in a UK secondary school setting
8. Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisation skills
9. Be flexible, professional, and reliable
10. ECTs, experienced teachers, and semi‑retired teachers are welcome to apply
