My client is a well-established engineering services provider, known for delivering high-quality hydraulic solutions across the UK. Due to their success they are now looking for a skilled Centre Lathe Turner to join their ever-growing team.
About Your New Centre Lathe Turner Role
Based in a busy, well-equipped workshop, you’ll be responsible for machining a range of hydraulic components using manual centre lathes and milling machines (all with DROs). This is a hands-on engineering role where attention to detail and quality craftsmanship are essential.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Machining hydraulic components using manual lathes and milling machines
* Setting up manual machines for production
* Reproducing components to precise customer specifications and tight tolerances
* Using power hacksaws to prepare raw materials
* Finishing components to match provided samples exactly
* Performing general machine shop duties, including basic maintenance and cleanliness
Requirements for the Centre Lathe Turner Role
* Proven experience using manual centre lathes and milling machines
* Background in general machine shop operations
* Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances
* Strong attention to detail and quality standards
* Self-motivated, punctual, and dependable
* Experience working with hydraulic cylinders, rods, and tubes is a strong advantage
