Warehouse Production Manager - £55k
The Warehouse/Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day warehouse and production operations, ensuring efficient inventory control, smooth workflow, compliance with health & safety standards, and timely delivery of products. The role requires strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
* Plan, organize, and control all warehouse and production activities.
* Ensure efficient use of resources, space, and equipment
* Oversee stock control, goods in/out, and accurate record-keeping.
* Oversee the implementation of production schedules and workflows to meet demand and deadlines.
Team Leadership
* Lead, train, and motivate warehouse and production staff.
* Allocate tasks and manage staffing levels in line with operational needs.
* Conduct performance reviews and support staff development.
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and industry standards.
* Maintain a safe working environment, conducting risk assessments and inspections.
* Oversee quality control processes to ensure products meet specifications.
Continuous Improvement
* Monitor KPIs and drive efficiency improvements in production and warehousing.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize processes.
* Introduce lean practices where applicable.
Communication & Reporting
* Liaise with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to ensure smooth operations.
* Prepare reports on productivity, stock levels, and operational performance.
* Act as the main point of contact for suppliers, contractors, and auditors.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in warehouse and production management.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
* Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance requirements
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with lean/continuous improvement methodologies desirable.
Preferred
* Health & Safety certification (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH) is desirable.
* Forklift license (where relevant) is advantageous.
