Role responsibilities
The Senior Engagement Officer will co-develop, manage and deliver a strategic programme of engagement projects to support the delivery of major transport developments. It will lead on engagement and will build links with groups to find ways of working together to help shape public transport projects.
• Manage specific engagement projects across the Cardiff Capital Region and more widely, to support the delivery of major transport projects and ensure they are delivered with stakeholder and community input and involvement.
• Ensure continuous identification of stakeholder and community groups, by mapping and networking. Aligning all mapping to TfW led major projects, including - but not limited to - Cardiff Central Enhancements Programme, Cardiff Crossrail and South Wales Metro project.
• Support the Stakeholder Manager by building, managing, and maintaining relationships with regional stakeholder groups, supported by Engagement Officer(s) to ensure all engagement projects link back to strategic priorities.
• Develop activity plans to gather local input and feedback that can help shape improvement projects, feeding the outputs into detailed designs for transport improvements and multi modal integration and feedback reports.
Who we’re looking for
• Demonstrable experience of working in a local public facing role and delivering engagement projects.
• Strong experience of managing public engagement and/or consultation for major enhancement projects.
• Credible communication skills and evidence of building sustainable working relationships.
• Experience of delivering positive outcomes for stakeholders, through dedicated ownership of relationships and the ability to problem solve.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
