About the role:
Cambridge University's Estates Division is seeking an Asbestos Manager to lead the eEstates Division's Asbestos Team. As part of the wider Safety and Compliance Team, you will be responsible for the ongoing risk management of the estate regarding asbestos, ensuring our asbestos management data is accurate and accessible to all necessary parties. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced staff and play a crucial role in statutory compliance.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* P405 asbestos Management in Buildings, P402 surveying and sampling
* NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health & Safety or similar
* Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation related to asbestos and construction
* Management experience
* Experience in health & safety within environments with complex multi-disciplinary issues and diverse building portfolios
* Ability to work within and contribute to various teams, departments, stakeholders, and suppliers
The Role:
* Act as the Appointed Person under the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) for the university’s operational, residential, and non-operational portfolios.
* Lead the Asbestos Team to ensure the university meets its asbestos management objectives, including task allocation, setting team and individual objectives, and monitoring performance.
* Own, develop, and implement the Asbestos Management Plans, ensuring compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations and duties of care to residents, staff, contractors, and the public.
* Develop and deliver a risk-based programme of asbestos management surveys and reinspections, ensuring quality and consistency through effective assurance procedures.
