Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support and care to our clients in various settings, including home care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities. This role requires a blend of practical caregiving skills and emotional support to ensure the well-being of our clients.
Duties
* Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health
* Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition
* Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed
* Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs
* Engage in behaviour management techniques to promote a positive environment
* Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance mental well-being
* Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and observations
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals for effective case management
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities when required
Requirements
* Previous experience in senior care, including nursing home or hospice care is preferred
* Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care practices
* Familiarity with Alzheimer's and dementia care techniques
* First aid certification is highly desirable
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
* Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary
* Valid driving licence for transportation duties is an advantage
* A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others
