Aneurin Bevan University Health Board invites applications to join the Urology Secretarial team as a Support Secretary.
Responsibilities
* Provide secretarial support to Clinical Nurse Specialists, Consultants and the department.
* Maintain general support throughout the department, including during sickness and annual leave.
* Type correspondence, clinic/result letters and general correspondence accurately and within time limits set by departmental standards.
* Speak Welsh is desirable; English speakers are welcome.
Working Hours & Conditions
The role is a fixed‑term secondment for 12 months with working hours between 09:00 and 17:00.
Pay
Pay is based on the Agenda for Change Pay Award 2026/27 effective from 1 April 2026.
Qualifications and Knowledge (Essential)
* Knowledge of secretarial procedures and systems, acquired through training and experience to Vocational Level 3 or equivalent.
* Computer literacy with excellent word‑processing/keyboard skills.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Qualifications and Knowledge (Desirable)
* Studying toward a Medical Secretarial Qualification.
* Experience working in a hospital environment.
Experience (Essential)
* Previous experience in a clerical/secretarial role.
* Ability to communicate well with all levels of staff and members of the public.
Experience (Desirable)
* NHS experience.
* Overall professional experience.
